Meet Doug Vance
Commitment to client service runs deep and wide within the John E. Hall Electrical Contractor organization. As Manager of Purchasing and Warehouse Operations, Doug Vance and his team support the field jobs with a Just in Time inventory management system.
How does this state-of-the-art methodology benefit our clients? Just in Time inventory means that inventory is kept at a very efficient level. Actual levels of goods are kept to a minimum but materials are delivered as needed for the project’s progress; JHE’s lower operating costs are passed along to each and every client.
Doug’s warehouse team provides field support and immediate delivery of materials to insure each project’s success. The timely ordering and delivery of materials helps insure the builder’s schedule is on time, every time.
Vance considers his workers as a Field Support team – for General Contractor, our own JHE field crews, and ultimately the job owner. “If I don’t have a part, I can always find it quickly,” he states. “Another beneficial feature of our inventory system is that it has magnified the company’s ability to support emergency calls,” Vance adds.

hat makes Vance excellent at what he does? As a licensed electrician for 31 years and part of the JHE team for 19 years, Doug Vance affirms that his field experience adds greatly to the quality of the specific work he does, because he understands the products and their function. Keeping up-to-date on product innovations and quality adds challenge to his responsibilities. "Products are more user-friendly now – especially in the Special Systems arena,” he says. “We’ll also be seeing more environmentally-friendly parts in the future.”
At home, Doug enjoys home improvement projects including renovations, additions, and landscaping. Currently, he is building an outdoor grille “just in time” for the upcoming spring!
